Eyelid Surgery (Upper Blepharoplasty)

As with the face and neck lift the eyes can give away signs of aging that you might not want broadcast to the world. As we get older bags under the eyes can form as well as hooding of the upper eyelids, which can make us look tired. Many people will combine an eyelid removal with an eye bag removal, known as a quadrilateral blepharoplasty, to enhance the youthful effect.

Eyelid Surgery Procedure

The upper blepharoplasty procedure at The Belvedere Clinic removes the excess skin from the eyelid and sometimes a small amount of excess fat, which gives you fresher and younger looking eyes.

Eyelid Surgery Recovery

5 days after your Blepharoplasty procedure you will be asked to return to the clinic to have your sutures removed. You will then be required to keep your steri-strips dry and in place for a further 5 days. You should avoid using cosmetics on the eyes for 10 days and contact lenses can be worn from about 10 days, depending on how painful it is to wear them. You are advised to wear sunglasses following your procedure and will be given an ointment to be applied to both eyes at night.
